Allama Iqbal Open University has released the AIOU Autumn 2026 final merit list of selected candidates for postgraduate admissions. AIOU currently provides two separate official lists: one for MBA, MSc (Hons), MS and MPhil programmes, and another for PhD programmes. The university homepage identifies both as final merit lists of selected candidates for Autumn 2026.
You can open the official lists below:

These are final selected-candidate lists, not entry-test, interview or provisional merit lists. The official PDFs contain applicants’ identification information, so AIOUTutor does not reproduce candidate CNICs or other unnecessary personal details here.
MBA, MSc, MS and MPhil Merit List Autumn 2026
The first official AIOU PDF is headed as the final merit list of selected candidates for MBA, MSc (Hons), MS and MPhil programmes for the Autumn 2026 semester.
The programmes represented in this list include:
| Degree | Programmes in the official final list |
|---|---|
| MBA | MBA New Scheme 1.5 Years; MBA New Scheme 2 Years |
| MSc (Hons) | Livestock Management; Rural Development; Agricultural Extension |
| MS | Computer Science; Community Health & Nutrition |
| MPhil | Islamic Studies; Physics; Chemistry; Agricultural Technology; Microbiology & Molecular Genetics; Environmental Sciences; Distance & Non-Formal Education; Statistics; Mathematics |
For example, the official document separately lists MSc (Hons) Livestock Management, Rural Development and Agricultural Extension candidates, rather than treating them as MBA or MS programmes.
It also contains separate sections for MS Computer Science, MS Community Health & Nutrition, MPhil Environmental Sciences, MPhil Statistics and MPhil Mathematics.
To check your selection, open the official PDF and search for your name, application number or programme. On a computer, you can normally use Ctrl + F. On a phone, use the browser or PDF viewer’s Find/Search option.
AIOU PhD Final Merit List Autumn 2026
AIOU has issued the PhD selected candidates in a separate final merit list. It should not be combined with the MBA/MS/MPhil PDF when giving students a download link.
The Autumn 2026 PhD final list covers programmes including:
- Islamic Studies
- Science Education
- Mass Communication
- Chemistry
- Mathematics
- Physics
- Distance & Non-Formal Education
- Environmental Sciences
- Seerat Studies
- Hadith & Hadith Sciences
- Computer Science
- Agricultural Extension
- Pakistani Languages & Literature
- Food & Nutrition
The PDF itself shows programme-specific groups. For example, Islamic Studies, Science Education and Mass Communication appear separately, while later sections include Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Seerat Studies, Hadith & Hadith Sciences and Computer Science.

What to Do If Your Name Is Selected
Finding your name in a final merit list is important, but it is not a reason to make an unverified payment.
For MS/MPhil and equivalent merit-based admissions, AIOU’s Autumn 2026 postgraduate prospectus says the concerned department informs selected candidates after the prescribed admission procedure. It also states that no fee should be paid until the concerned university department has intimated the candidate. The payment is then made through the prescribed CMS-generated fee voucher within the stipulated period.
AIOU further states that if the required fee is not deposited within the specified period, the admission can automatically be cancelled after the due date and the department may consider the next candidate in merit order.
For PhD admissions, the prospectus likewise says admission is offered against available seats on merit and that a candidate becomes a PhD student after depositing the prescribed semester fee. Failure to deposit it within the specified period can result in cancellation of admission.
So, if you are selected:
- Confirm that the entry belongs to your correct programme and application.
- Follow instructions sent or issued by the relevant AIOU department.
- Use the prescribed AIOU fee process rather than paying on the basis of a third-party message.
- Complete the required payment within the deadline stated by AIOU.
The official Autumn 2026 postgraduate prospectus can also be consulted for programme and admission rules. View the AIOU Autumn 2026 MS, MPhil and PhD prospectus
What If Your Programme or Name Is Not Listed?
First check that you opened the correct document. PhD candidates have a separate PDF, while MBA, MSc (Hons), MS and MPhil candidates use the other final merit list.
Do not use an older Spring 2026 merit list to determine your Autumn 2026 admission status. AIOU’s current homepage specifically links the Autumn 2026 final selected-candidate lists.
If your programme is not represented in these current PDFs, do not assume that a list exists simply because the programme appears in the Autumn 2026 prospectus. A programme being offered and a final selected-candidate PDF being published are two different things.
You can also check the main AIOU website for later admission notices and use AIOUTutor’s Admissions section for related independent student guidance.
When Does the Autumn 2026 Postgraduate Semester Start?
AIOU’s academic calendar for the MPhil/MS and PhD 2026–2028 batch lists 1 October 2026 as the commencement of the first semester.
Students who have been selected should therefore complete any department-issued admission requirements within the time AIOU provides rather than relying on dates from older semesters.
