However, workshop attendance, workshop or quiz marks, assignment marks, and the final course result are not the same thing. The way workshop assessment is handled can also differ by programme, so students should not assume that one attendance percentage or marking rule applies to every AIOU course.
Where to Check AIOU Workshop Attendance and Marks
Open the official Aaghi LMS portal and select the portal for your semester and programme.
AIOU currently instructs students and resource persons to join online workshops through the workshop links provided in Aaghi LMS. Separate links may be provided for different workshop days.
After signing in:
- Open the relevant course.
- Check the workshop activities available for that course.
- Look for attendance, workshop, quiz or grade information provided by the course or resource person.
- Make sure you are viewing the correct semester and course code.
The exact LMS layout can vary. Do not worry if another student’s screen has a menu or report that you cannot see in your own course.
AIOU also advises students to check their LMS accounts regularly because workshop schedules are uploaded there.

Workshop Attendance, Workshop Marks and Assignment Marks Are Different
These records should not be confused with each other.

Some programmes may use attendance mainly as a requirement, while others can include workshop activities or quizzes within their assessment structure.
For this reason, there is no safe university-wide rule such as “every student must obtain the same workshop percentage.” Students should follow the assessment scheme for their own programme and course.
What Do A/W and R/W Mean in an AIOU Result?
Workshop-related information may also appear later in the official examination record rather than simply as a percentage inside LMS.
AIOU’s examination helpdesk lists workshop-related result abbreviations including:
A/W means Absent in Workshop.
R/W means Re-workshop, indicating that the workshop has to be taken again.
The helpdesk also lists combined workshop and examination statuses in some result situations.
If one of these codes appears in your result, do not treat it as the same thing as a temporary blank field inside Aaghi LMS. It is an examination/result status and may require action through AIOU.
My Workshop Attendance or Marks Are Missing
A missing mark does not automatically prove that you were absent. First check the correct course and semester in Aaghi LMS. If you attended the workshop but the record remains missing or incorrect, use AIOU’s official correction route.
For ODL Students
AIOU states that if assignment, quiz or attendance marks are missing in an ODL course, the student should contact the concerned Regional Services office. The claim is checked and, where valid, sent to the Results Section for updating.
For non-inclusion of workshop marks specifically, AIOU’s examination helpdesk tells students to contact their concerned regional office and submit an application with proof to the Regional Director. The regional office can then forward the case for revision of the result.
Keep useful details ready, including your:
- registration number or roll number
- course code
- semester
- workshop centre or relevant workshop details
- evidence supporting your attendance claim
If your regional office has already forwarded the case, keep its diary/reference details where available.
For Face-to-Face Students
For a face-to-face course, AIOU’s current FAQ directs students with ambiguity or missing marks in a course component to route the matter through their respective department rather than following the ODL correction route.
That distinction matters. A student should not assume that every attendance correction goes through exactly the same office.
Does Every AIOU Programme Require the Same Workshop Attendance?
No single percentage should be applied to every AIOU programme without checking its official programme or course rules.
AIOU publishes programme-specific requirements. For example, some course structures explicitly state a compulsory attendance percentage, while assessment arrangements in other programmes can combine workshops with quizzes or other components.
So if you see claims such as “70% attendance is compulsory for every AIOU student,” check your own programme before relying on them.
The safest approach is to verify three things separately:
- whether workshops are compulsory for your course;
- what attendance requirement your programme specifies;
- whether workshop attendance, a workshop quiz, or another activity carries marks.
What If My Result Says R/W?
If your official result shows R/W, AIOU’s examination helpdesk advises students to contact their respective regional office regarding reappearance in the workshop. The helpdesk states that students may need to attend the workshop when it is held again and follow the regional office’s instructions concerning the workshop fee.
Because workshop requirements vary by programme and semester, confirm the current instructions with your regional office before making a payment or relying on an older schedule.
Check the Workshop Schedule Before Reporting an Attendance Problem
Before raising a missing-attendance complaint, confirm that you attended the correct workshop for the correct course and scheduled day.
AIOU advises students to monitor their Aaghi LMS account for workshop schedules, and its current LMS guidance tells students to join workshops through the workshop link assigned for the relevant day.
Use the official Aaghi LMS for your course activity. If the workshop is complete but your attendance or marks are still missing, follow the regional office or department route that applies to your mode of study.
