AIOU examinations are handled through several different services rather than one single exam page. Depending on where you are in the Spring or Autumn semester, you may need the date sheet, roll number slip, exam centre information, result or result card.
This page helps you move to the right AIOU examination service without going through unrelated information.

AIOU’s Examinations Department is responsible for activities including examination conduct, allocation of exam centres, issue of roll number slips, evaluation and declaration of results.

Start With Your Current Exam Task
Use the table below to find the part of the AIOU exam process you need.
| Student needs | Go to |
|---|---|
| Find exam dates | AIOU Date Sheet |
| Download roll number slip | Roll Number Slip |
| Find exam centre | Exam Centre |
| Request a centre change | Exam Centre Change |
| Prepare for exam day | Exam Instructions |
| Check marks or result | AIOU Results |
| View or understand academic result record | Result Card |
| Question a result or error | Rechecking / Result Correction |
You do not need to follow every guide from the beginning. If your examination has already finished, for example, you can go directly to the result section.
Before Your AIOU Exams
Check the Date Sheet
Start with the AIOU Date Sheet to confirm the examination schedule for your programme and semester.
AIOU examinations are held for different programmes, study modes and semesters, so students should use the date sheet that applies to their own programme rather than assuming that a date mentioned for another programme also applies to them.
AIOUTutor maintains a separate AIOU Date Sheet guide for this task. AIOU Date Sheet guide
The existing date-sheet page should remain separate from this examination hub because its purpose is to provide programme and semester-specific scheduling information.
Download Your Roll Number Slip
Your roll number slip, also referred to in some current AIOU notices as an admit card, is one of the main documents to check before appearing in an examination.
AIOU’s examination information says the roll slip contains details including the student’s roll number, registration information, examination-centre address and paper dates. It also states that the slip can be printed through the AIOU Student CMS Dashboard.
Students looking for a slip should use the appropriate Roll Number Slip guide rather than relying on a slip or screenshot shared by another student.
AIOUTutor already has a dedicated Roll Number Slips section covering programme-specific pages such as Matric, FA, BA and MA. AIOU Roll Number Slips
Confirm Your Exam Centre
Do not assume that your previous examination centre will automatically be used again.
AIOU’s current general examination information states that examination centres are allocated by the Conduct Section and that the centre address is included in the student’s roll number slip.
Check your current examination information before travelling to the centre.
This becomes especially important when AIOU issues revised examination arrangements. A recent official examination notice advised students to check their updated admit cards in CMS because a venue or course date can sometimes be changed during an examination period.
A separate AIOU Exam Centre guide should cover centre-location questions in detail.
Exam Centre Change
An examination-centre change is not the normal route for choosing a more convenient centre.
AIOU states that centre-change requests are considered in exceptional circumstances where the student has a genuine reason. Its current centre-change instructions direct eligible students to submit the request through the CMS Portal using Student Service Request, together with the required supporting documents.
The university also reserves the right to approve or reject a centre-change application.
Because the conditions, documents, fee and submission schedule can change, use the dedicated AIOU Exam Centre Change guide for the current process rather than relying on an old form or deadline.
On the Exam Day
What Students Should Check Before Leaving
Before travelling to your examination centre, check the information issued for your own paper.
At minimum, confirm:
- your correct paper and course
- examination date and time
- current examination centre
- your roll number slip or admit-card information
- the identification and other documents required by the current AIOU instructions
AIOU’s general examination information says students must bring their National Identity Card to establish their identity at the examination centre.
Requirements can differ according to a student’s circumstances, so students who do not have a CNIC or have another documentation issue should follow the current official instructions for their examination instead of depending on old social-media posts or unofficial checklists.
See the separate AIOU Exam Instructions and What to Take to AIOU Exam guides for detailed exam-day preparation.
Exam Centre or Roll Slip Problem
If your roll slip is missing, contains an apparent error or does not show an expected course, deal with the problem before the examination whenever possible.
AIOU’s general examination guidance says students with an ambiguity in their roll slip can contact the relevant examination authorities or regional office.
For a missing or incorrect course, centre or other slip problem, use the relevant Roll Number Slip or Exam Centre troubleshooting guide rather than changing information yourself.
After Your Exams
Check AIOU Result
Once AIOU declares the result for your programme and semester, students can view their examination results through the official student system.
AIOU’s Examinations Department states that examination results can be viewed or printed through the Student CMS Portal.
Use the AIOU Results section on AIOUTutor for the appropriate result guide.
Do not use a result date from another programme as evidence that your own result has been announced. Result publication can differ by programme and examination group.
Download or Understand Your Result Card
The result card is a separate post-examination task from simply checking whether a result has been announced.
Students who need help locating, downloading or understanding their academic result record should use the dedicated AIOU Result Card guide.
If a result card shows an unexpected status or apparent error, do not assume that this automatically means the paper should be re-evaluated. First identify whether the problem concerns marks, an absent status, a missing result or another record issue.
Rechecking or Result Correction
AIOU distinguishes rechecking from re-evaluation.
According to the university’s current FAQ, re-evaluation is not allowed under the prescribed rules. During rechecking, AIOU verifies matters such as whether questions or parts have remained unmarked and whether there is a discrepancy in the total marks.
AIOU’s official Downloads section separately provides forms for Result Revision and Rechecking of Answer Script, which means a record-correction problem should not automatically be treated as a request for rechecking.
Use the dedicated AIOU Rechecking / Result Correction guide to choose the correct process for your situation.
Spring and Autumn Examination Information
AIOU operates Spring and Autumn semesters, but students should not treat one generic examination date as applying to every programme.
The university publishes examination information according to the relevant semester, programme and mode of study. Its academic material also tells students to refer to the relevant regional or official information for exact schedules.
For this reason, this AIOU Examinations hub does not hard-code one universal Spring or Autumn examination timetable.
When you need an exact paper date, centre, roll slip or result status, check the information for your specific semester and programme.
Official AIOU Examination Services
The main official services students may need during the examination journey include:
| Official service | Use it for |
|---|---|
| AIOU Examinations Department | General examination information and examination administration |
| Student CMS | Roll slip/exam schedule, examination records, results and eligible service requests |
| AIOU Date Sheet | Current examination schedules |
| AIOU Downloads | Centre-change, result-revision and rechecking forms/instructions |
| AIOU HelpDesk | Examination-related support and troubleshooting |
Some older AIOU help pages still contain legacy examination links. For current tasks, start from the main AIOU website or Student CMS rather than assuming an old bookmarked portal is still the correct route.
