AIOU Fee Structure 2026 for Autumn Admissions

AIOU Fee Structure 2026

The AIOU fee structure for Autumn 2026 is programme-specific. Allama Iqbal Open University has published an official Eligibility & 1st Semester Fee for Programmes Offered in Autumn 2026 link on its fresh-admission page. Students should use that current tariff or their generated admission challan to confirm the amount payable for their exact programme.

Official AIOU fee source: AIOU Fresh Admission and Autumn 2026 Fee Tariff

Do not rely on an old Matric, FA, B.Ed, BS, MPhil or PhD fee copied from a previous semester. AIOU fees can differ by programme, study mode and admission route.

AIOU Fee Structure 2026: Current Status

AIOU is displaying Autumn 2026 admission information on its official website. The university’s fresh-admission section provides separate links for:

  • Autumn 2026 prospectuses
  • Online fresh admission
  • Admission advertisement
  • Eligibility and first-semester fee tariff
  • International student admission
  • Fee tariff information

For a student who simply wants to know how much admission will cost, the Eligibility & 1st Semester Fee Autumn 2026 document is the most useful official reference.

You can also open the AIOU Autumn 2026 prospectuses if you need to confirm eligibility, programme duration, study mode or other programme conditions before paying.

Which AIOU Fees Can You Check?

The Autumn fee tariff covers programmes offered by AIOU for the relevant admission cycle. Depending on the current programme offering, students may find fee information for categories such as:

Programme level What to verify
SSC / Matric Exact programme and first-semester fee
HSSC / FA / I.Com General, Dars-e-Nizami or other offered route
Associate Degree Exact subject or programme title
BS programmes Programme, duration and study mode
B.Ed Exact B.Ed route and eligibility
Diplomas / Certificates Programme-specific semester fee
MBA / postgraduate programmes Exact programme rather than a general MBA figure
MS / MPhil Department and programme-specific fee
PhD Programme-specific eligibility and first-semester charges

The important point is that AIOU does not have one universal fee for every programme at the same qualification level. Two BS or postgraduate programmes can have different charges.

That is why a current programme tariff is safer than a general fee table copied from an older admission cycle.

Students looking specifically for postgraduate costs can also see our separate AIOU MPhil fee guide.

How to Check Your Exact AIOU Admission Fee

Use this process before paying anything.

1. Open the official Autumn 2026 admission page

Go to the AIOU Fresh Admission page.

Look for:

Eligibility & 1st Semester Fee for the Programmes Offered in Autumn 2026 Semester

This is the semester-specific tariff linked by the university.

2. Find your exact programme

Do not stop at a broad label such as BS, B.Ed or MPhil.

Confirm the complete programme name. For example, different subjects and programme routes may have different eligibility conditions or fees.

3. Check whether the programme is actually offered

A programme appearing in an old AIOU article or previous prospectus does not prove that fresh admission is available in the current semester.

Use the Autumn 2026 prospectus section to confirm the current programme offering.

4. Apply through the AIOU Online Application System

Fresh applicants can access the Online Application System through AIOU’s official admission page.

If you need broader application guidance, see our AIOU Autumn 2026 admission guide.

5. Generate your fee challan

After completing the required admission information and programme selection, generate the challan through the AIOU system.

Your current generated challan is important because it shows the amount attached to your actual application.

If a fee shown on an old website page differs from your valid current AIOU challan, verify the amount through the official tariff and AIOU system before making payment.

How to Pay AIOU Fee

AIOU’s official FAQ lists both bank and mobile payment options.

Payment through banks

Students can submit the prescribed fee through branches of:

  • Allied Bank Limited, ABL
  • MCB Bank
  • United Bank Limited, UBL
  • First Women Bank Limited, FWBL

Use the challan generated for your admission or enrollment.

AIOU fee through Easypaisa

According to AIOU’s payment instructions:

  1. Open the Easypaisa app.
  2. Select Bill Payments.
  3. Choose Education.
  4. Select Allama Iqbal Open University.
  5. Enter your challan number.
  6. Check the details before completing payment.

AIOU fee through JazzCash

  1. Open JazzCash.
  2. Open the education/university payment section.
  3. Select Allama Iqbal Open University.
  4. Enter the challan number.
  5. Confirm the displayed information before paying.

AIOU fee through Upaisa

Students can also choose AIOU under the payment section in Upaisa and enter the relevant challan number.

AIOU specifically states that fee payment through ordinary funds transfer such as IBFT or RAAST is not accepted. Use one of the prescribed payment channels instead.

Official payment instructions are available in the AIOU FAQs.

Fee Payment for Overseas Students

AIOU provides a separate online payment facility for foreign and overseas students.

The university instructs applicable students to use:

https://olpay.aiou.edu.pk/

Enter the challan number, verify the challan details and use the available card-payment option.

Keep the successful payment notification until your admission and fee status have been confirmed.

How to Check Whether AIOU Received Your Fee

Paying the challan is not the final step. Check that the payment has been recorded.

Fresh students

Fresh applicants should log in to the AIOU Online Application System, OAS, and check their fee or application status.

Official fresh-admission access is available through:

AIOU OAS Fresh Admission

Continuing students

Continuing students should use their CMS account.

AIOU says continuing students can check the payment status from the submitted course-registration request in CMS.

Sometimes payment status is not updated immediately. AIOU’s FAQ notes that technical delays can occur.

What If the Challan Is Not Showing in Easypaisa, JazzCash or the Bank?

A newly generated challan may not appear instantly in the payment system.

AIOU advises students to allow some time after generating the challan. Also check:

  • whether the challan due date has expired;
  • whether you generated another challan after changing courses;
  • whether you are using the most recent submitted challan;
  • whether there is a temporary AIOU, bank or mobile-payment system issue.

If you created a new challan after adding or removing courses, an older challan may no longer be the one you should pay.

First-Semester Fee Is Not the Total Degree Cost

A common misunderstanding is to treat the amount shown under 1st Semester Fee as the fee for the complete programme.

It is not.

The Autumn 2026 tariff specifically identifies first-semester fees. A programme lasting several semesters will normally require further enrollment and semester payments according to the university’s applicable rules.

Students comparing programmes should therefore distinguish between:

  • first-semester admission cost;
  • later semester enrollment fees;
  • programme-specific course charges;
  • examination or other service charges.

Admission Fee and Other AIOU Charges Are Different

AIOU also has separate charges and processes for services such as refunds, examinations, degree-related services and other student requests.

Those charges should not be mixed into a basic admission-fee table.

If you paid an admission fee but later need to request its return, use our separate AIOU admission fee refund guide.

For more programme-specific fee articles, visit the AIOU Admission Fee guides.

If Your Challan Amount Is Different From a Fee Listed Online

Use the following order of verification:

  1. Confirm the programme name on your application.
  2. Check the official Autumn 2026 eligibility and fee tariff.
  3. Check the relevant Autumn 2026 prospectus.
  4. Compare these details with your current AIOU challan.
  5. Contact AIOU if the difference remains unexplained.

The AIOU fresh-admission page lists fee@aiou.edu.pk for Treasurer/fee queries and also links to the university Help Desk.

Avoid paying an amount simply because it appears in an old search result or an older AIOU fee article. Programme fees change, and historical figures may remain indexed long after a new semester begins.

For students still deciding which programme to apply for, the safest sequence is simple: confirm the current programme, check the official Autumn 2026 first-semester tariff, complete the application, and then pay the valid challan generated for that application.
