AIOU Degree Tracking – Check DTS Application Status

Desk with degree tracking notes and phone

If you have already applied for an AIOU PRC, transcript, certificate or degree, you can check the application through the university’s official Degree Tracking System (DTS). AIOU’s current FAQ directs students to DTS and says the status can be searched using a Degree Tracking ID or roll number.

Check AIOU Degree Status:
Open the Official AIOU Degree Tracking System

DTS is for checking an application that has already been submitted. It should not be confused with applying for a new degree, paying a degree fee or verifying an already issued certificate.

Check AIOU Degree Tracking Status Online

AIOU lists Degree Case Tracking under the Examinations section of its official website, and the current DTS homepage provides separate routes for Incomplete / Returned Applications, In Process Applications and Online Application.

To check your case:

  1. Open the official AIOU Degree Tracking System.
  2. Go to the appropriate status option for your application.
  3. Enter your Degree Tracking ID or roll number.
  4. Submit the search.
  5. Read the status and any objection, processing or dispatch information shown against your own case.

Use the details exactly as they were entered when the application was submitted. If DTS cannot find the record, recheck the number before contacting AIOU.

What AIOU DTS Tracks

AIOU describes DTS as the system for checking the current status of applications for:

  • PRC or result card
  • Transcript
  • Certificate
  • Degree

The university’s FAQ specifically identifies these credential applications when explaining DTS.

DTS should therefore be treated as a credential application tracking system. It is not the place to check course marks, assignment progress, credit hours, admission status or available degree programmes.

Degree Tracking ID or Roll Number: Which Should You Use?

AIOU’s current FAQ says students can enter either a Degree Tracking ID or Roll Number to obtain information about a PRC, transcript, certificate or degree application.

If you received a tracking number when your case was created, use that first because it identifies the specific application. Your roll number is useful when DTS allows the case to be located through your student record.

A Degree Tracking ID is not the same thing as a courier tracking number. It identifies your case inside the AIOU degree-processing system.

Understanding Your AIOU Degree Application Status

The exact wording can differ between individual cases, so the message shown in DTS should always be treated as the main instruction for that student.

DTS status What you should do
In Process Your application is still being handled by the relevant AIOU section. Continue checking the same case for further updates.
Incomplete / Returned / Objection Read the specific deficiency shown against your application and provide the document, correction or fee evidence AIOU asks for.
Issued / Completed / Dispatched The credential has moved beyond processing. Where available, DTS may display issuance or dispatch information.

The official DTS homepage itself separates Incomplete / Returned Applications from In Process Applications, which makes this distinction important when following up on a case.

Do not interpret a general status such as “in process” as a promise that the degree will be delivered on a particular date.

If Your Degree Application Is Incomplete or Returned

An incomplete or returned case normally requires action from the student. The useful step is to read the objection shown against your own application rather than guessing what document is missing.

Possible requirements can relate to the degree form, fee challan, transcript/PRC or previously completed credentials. AIOU’s current FAQ lists these among the documents used in certificate and degree processing.

If DTS gives a specific objection:

  1. Note the exact requirement.
  2. Arrange only the document or correction requested.
  3. Follow the submission method given by AIOU for that case.
  4. Keep your tracking details and fee/document evidence.
  5. Check DTS again after the case has been updated.

Avoid submitting a new degree application merely because the existing case has an objection.

AIOU Degree Processing Time

AIOU currently publishes separate processing periods for transcripts, urgent degrees and normal degrees.

Service Current AIOU guidance
Transcript About 3–4 weeks
Urgent degree 15 days
Normal degree One month

AIOU states that a transcript is issued within about 3–4 weeks after submission of the application, while an urgent degree is issued within 15 days and a normal degree within one month. Its FAQ separately qualifies degree issuance as applying when there is no objection.

These are processing or issuance periods, not guaranteed home-delivery times. Postal or courier movement, where applicable, is a separate stage.

The older claim that an urgent AIOU degree is always issued within one week should not be used because it does not match the university’s current published guidance.

If DTS Does Not Show Your Record

If your application cannot be found:

  • Check the Tracking ID or roll number for typing errors.
  • Make sure you are using the official Degree Tracking System rather than a third-party tracking page.
  • Confirm that you actually submitted a degree, certificate, transcript or PRC application.
  • Contact the AIOU Examination Department if the case remains unavailable.

Do not use the degree-tracking page to look for admission status, examination marks or courier location.

For wider support, AIOU also provides its Help Desk and main student-support contact. The university currently lists 051-111-112-468 and support@aiou.edu.pk on its official contact page.

Applying for an AIOU Degree Is Different From Tracking It

If you have not yet applied, DTS tracking is not your first step.

AIOU currently provides separate degree forms for students up to Autumn 2020, students from Spring 2021 onwards, and a Walk-in Express Mode form. It also publishes separate forms for degree verification and duplicate credentials.

On AIOUTutor, use the AIOU Degree Form guide if you need to start an application. Use the AIOU Degree Verification guide if an issued degree or certificate needs verification. The AIOU Challan Form guide may be useful when AIOU requires a fee payment.

Tracking, application and verification are three different tasks. Using the correct route prevents unnecessary delays.
