What Can Be Corrected on an AIOU Degree?
AIOU publishes a correction form for name, father’s name and date of birth. It distinguishes a spelling correction from a change of name. AIOU also recognises complaints about errors in issued PRCs, transcripts, certificates and degrees. aiou.edu.pk
For another printed detail, describe the exact error to AIOU rather than selecting a name or date-of-birth category that does not fit. If the problem concerns marks or the academic result, use the result route listed on the downloads page. Correct the University Record When It Is Wrong
Check your CMS personal information and transcript against the issued degree. If the underlying personal record is wrong, use AIOU’s personal-information correction instructions:
- Sign in to the AIOU CMS enrollment portal.
- Open Student Service Request and create a new request.
- Choose Correction in Personal Information and the applicable local or international student option.
- State the incorrect entry and the requested correct entry in the comments. Upload the supporting document and submit the request.
Those instructions concern the university record. Tell AIOU in the request if a degree or certificate bearing the wrong detail has already been issued, and ask how its correction will be handled. Documents Required for Degree Correction
Prepare a clear copy of the issued document showing the error, your roll or registration number, and evidence of the correct detail. Match the evidence to the change you are requesting. For a name or father’s-name record correction, AIOU’s help desk specifies attested copies of the applicant’s CNIC and Secondary School Certificate. If the name was changed or the board record was revised, it also specifies the relevant court decision and revised SSC certificate. A court decision is not stated as a requirement for every spelling error. support.aiou.edu.pk
For a date-of-birth request, use AIOU’s current linked correction form and provide the underlying record that supports the requested date. If your documents disagree with one another, ask AIOU which record must be resolved first. Keep the original degree safe until AIOU tells you whether and how to submit it; the reviewed guidance does not establish one original-document rule for every correction case.
How to Submit an Issued-Degree Correction Request
AIOU’s CMS service-request guidance lists Correction in Transcript/Certificate/Degree Fee under Other Fee Challan/Invoice. It describes an online request with an application and attachments, followed by a generated challan. After payment, the student adds the paid challan copy to the same request for processing. In your request, identify the credential and programme, quote the detail exactly as printed, give the correct detail, and explain whether your CMS record and transcript already show it correctly. Ask AIOU to confirm any additional document submission, handling of the original credential and applicable charge before paying or posting an original. AIOU’s Examinations Department accepts cases through CMS and other channels, including its Student Facilitation Centre and post or courier; follow the instructions issued for your particular case. support.aiou.edu.pk
Name, Father’s Name and Date of Birth
For a name spelling error, show the spelling in the issued document beside the spelling in your SSC record and AIOU record. If you have legally changed your name or a board has revised its certificate, describe that as a change and provide the case-specific evidence AIOU requests. The same comparison helps identify whether a father’s-name error begins in the student record or only appears on the issued document. aiou.edu.pk
For a date-of-birth error, check the date in your AIOU record as well as on the certificate. AIOU includes date of birth on its combined personal-detail correction form. Current Degree Correction Fee
AIOU’s FAQ says a mistake in a PRC, transcript, certificate or degree reported within 45 days carries no correction fee; after that, a fee may apply. If you have recently received the document, report the error promptly and retain evidence of your report. The FAQ does not clearly say how the 45 days are counted. Education For All

These are the published personal-detail correction bands, not a verified single price for replacing every issued degree. Confirm how the 45-day rule and any credential charge apply to your case before paying the challan. aiou.edu.pk
Track Your Correction Application
For a CMS request, return to its service-request thread using the number you saved; AIOU says officials’ responses can appear there. AIOU also offers a Degree Tracking System for degree-related applications, but the reviewed instructions do not establish that every correction request appears in DTS. Correction or Duplicate Degree?
Choose correction when an issued document contains inaccurate information. Choose duplicate issuance when a credential has been lost and its recorded details are otherwise correct. AIOU lists separate duplicate sanad, degree and diploma routes for students up to Autumn 2020 and for students from Spring 2021 onwards.
