AIOU Degree & Certificates 2026

After completing your AIOU programme, the next step depends on what you actually need: a final degree or certificate, application tracking, degree verification, a duplicate document, correction of details, or help with a degree that has not arrived.AIOU degree and certificates student guide

AIOU uses separate services for several of these tasks. The Degree Tracking System (DTS) is used for degree-related application status, while degree verification has its own service and degree forms are provided separately by the Examinations Department.

This AIOUTutor guide helps you choose the correct route without treating every degree-related problem as the same process.

AIOU Degree Journey: Requirements → Apply → Track → Receive → Verify

Choose What You Need

Check whether you are ready to apply AIOU Degree Requirements
Submit a degree application How to Apply for AIOU Degree
Check an existing application AIOU Degree Tracking
Understand the tracking portal AIOU DTS

The important point is to identify your task first. For example, tracking a submitted degree case is different from verifying a degree that has already been issued.

Before Applying for an AIOU Degree

Check Your Programme Completion

Do not apply only because your final examination is over. First confirm that the academic requirements for your programme have been completed and that your result record does not contain an unresolved issue.

AIOU’s degree-processing guidance requires an official copy of the relevant PRC/transcript as part of the degree case. It also refers to reappear dues where applicable.

If your marks, result or programme completion record is incomplete, resolve that issue before expecting the degree application to proceed normally.

Check the Current Required Documents

AIOU’s published degree-processing requirements currently identify these main items:

  • duly completed degree form
  • degree fee challan and any applicable reappear fee
  • official PRC/transcript for the qualification
  • attested copies of previously completed certificates or degrees

The attested previous qualifications are to carry the attesting officer’s name and designation according to AIOU’s guidance.

Requirements can vary by case, so use the dedicated AIOU Degree Requirements guide before preparing your application rather than relying on an old saved checklist.

Apply for Your AIOU Degree or Certificate

AIOU currently provides separate degree forms according to the student’s period of study. The official Downloads section lists:

  • Degree Form Old for students up to Autumn 2020
  • Degree Form New for students from Spring 2021 onward
  • Degree Form Walk-in (Express Mode)

It also provides degree verification and duplicate degree-related forms.

For a complete walkthrough, use the AIOUTutor How to Apply for AIOU Degree/Certificate guide. AIOU degree application guide

Always use the current form appropriate to your case rather than an old degree form saved on your phone or computer.

Track Your Degree Application

Once a degree-related case has been submitted, tracking tells you what is happening to the application. It does not guarantee that the degree will reach you on a particular date.

AIOU’s official Degree Tracking System (DTS) currently provides routes for:

  • incomplete or returned applications
  • applications in process
  • online applications

A related DTS status page also refers specifically to viewing application status for PC/degree cases.

AIOU Degree Tracking

If your main question is Where is my degree application now?, use the detailed AIOU Degree Tracking guide. It should be the primary troubleshooting page for status, returned cases, objections and applications that appear not to be moving.

AIOU DTS

If you specifically need help understanding or using the Degree Tracking System itself, use the separate DTS guide.

AIOU DTS portal guide

The official portal is here:

Open AIOU Degree Tracking System

Keeping these two tasks separate prevents a common mistake: DTS is not the degree itself. It is a system used to manage and track degree-related cases.

AIOU Degree Verification

Degree verification is needed when an employer, educational institution, government department or another organization needs confirmation of an AIOU-issued academic document.

That is different from applying for your first degree.

AIOU has a dedicated verification process for transcripts, degrees and certificates. Its current verification material distinguishes normal verification, by-hand verification and verification for foreign organizations.

For the full procedure, use:

AIOU Degree Verification guide

Because fees and procedures may change, confirm the current amount and submission instructions from the official verification material before paying.

Urgent and Express AIOU Degree Service

Students who need a qualification quickly should not assume that every faster service is the same.

AIOU’s current FAQ describes both normal and urgent degree processing, while its 2026 degree forms also introduce a separate Walk-in Express Mode option.

The official 2026 Express Mode form states a two-working-day timeline, but it also says:

  • all formalities must be completed
  • incomplete applications will not be processed
  • weekends and public holidays are excluded
  • Express Mode is optional
  • ordinary and urgent processing remain separate choices

So the two-day statement should be understood specifically as the condition stated on the 2026 Express Mode form, not as a promise for every urgent or ordinary degree case.

Check the current official form before travelling to Islamabad or paying an express-related fee.

Duplicate AIOU Degree or Certificate

If your original degree or certificate has been lost, do not submit an ordinary first-time degree request.

AIOU provides separate duplicate degree/certificate forms. Its official guidance also describes additional evidence for a lost document, including a police report, newspaper publication and a declaration.

Because older AIOU help material contains differences in details such as stamp-paper amounts, use the latest duplicate form and its instructions instead of copying requirements from an old article.

AIOU also lists an undertaking specifically for duplicate PRC/transcript/marks sheet, showing why a lost transcript or PRC should not automatically be treated as the same request as a lost final degree.

PRC, Transcript and Final Degree Are Not the Same Request

Students often use degree, certificate, result card and transcript as if they mean the same document. That can send an application to the wrong service.

AIOU’s current degree-processing guidance specifically asks for an official PRC/transcript when processing the certificate or degree. This shows that the academic record used in degree processing is separate from the final degree itself.

AIOU’s current downloads also refer specifically to a Provisional Result Card (PRC) in its duplicate-document undertaking. Therefore, when searching for an AIOU provisional certificate, check whether the document you actually need is a PRC, transcript, certificate or final degree.

Use the dedicated transcript or PRC guide when your requirement is an academic record rather than the final qualification.

Fixing AIOU Degree Problems

Your Name or Another Detail Is Wrong

Do not apply for a duplicate simply because information printed on a document is incorrect.

AIOU’s CMS service-request information lists a separate category for correction in transcript/certificate/degree, so correction should be treated as its own service.

Use the AIOU Degree Correction guide for the supporting documents and current procedure.

Your Degree Has Not Arrived

First check the application in DTS rather than immediately applying again.

Look for an in-process case, returned application, objection or other status that explains why issuance or delivery has not completed. If the case cannot be resolved from the tracking information, AIOU operates an official Help Desk where students can submit and follow a complaint or ticket.

AIOUTutor also has a guide to the complaint system:

AIOU Complaint Cell and Help Desk guide

Your Tracking Status Has Not Changed

A status that has not changed does not by itself prove that the degree is lost.

Check whether:

  1. your application is listed in DTS;
  2. the case has been returned or marked incomplete;
  3. an objection or missing document needs attention;
  4. your fee or supporting documents were attached correctly;
  5. an AIOU Help Desk complaint is now appropriate.

AIOU’s Help Desk includes examination-related support and provides options to submit a new complaint or view an existing ticket.
